Ethical Threads Suppliers
At Ethical Threads we search the world for suppliers who can guarantee excellent quality clothing, a fair deal for the people they employ and organic Fair Trade cotton that is kinder to the environment and the people who grow it (believe us this is no easy task).
We inspect all our suppliers factories personally to make sure they meet the criteria to have our tag sewn onto the sleeve. So we know first hand that all the people who make our clothing are protected by the ethical employment conventions of the International Labour Organisation, and the organic cotton we use comes from certified organic farms and growers get the price they deserve under the Fair Trade scheme.
We currently have use four suppliers. Our organic shirts are made by Pratibha Syntex Limited in Indore, in the Madhya Pradesh region of India. We also have a UK manufacturer for bespoke orders, Otro Mercado in Argentina and a Turkish supplier for our non-organic stock.
Our organic cotton comes from the Vasudha Cotton Project in India. The project has its roots in the village of Karhi, about 80 km from Indore city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Garments made from breathable and extra absorbent Vasudha cotton are extremely soft and comfortable in feel, and free from any allergic/harmful toxic chemical residue. Vasudha farmers use biologically-based growing systems to raise healthier cotton & food crops, benefiting both their families and the environment.
